Mt. Baldy Trail Run

Mount San Antonio is the third tallest peak in southern California. With a summit elevation of 3066m (10,060′) this trail run sure is a challenge for any level of trail runner with over 900m (3900′) of elevation gain in a true sub-alpine, rugged southern Californian mountain wilderness.

Los Angeles Marathon

Yes, I’m running the LA Marathon with Type One Run.
The Los Angeles Marathon’s Stadium to the Sea course takes runners from Dodger Stadium across Los Angeles to a scenic finish just steps from the Santa Monica Pier.

New Years Race 2020

The 9.3 Challenge allows athletes to participate in both a 5k and 10k race in the same night.
The 5k will kick off your challenge at 5:00pm. Once you have finished your 3.1 miles, you’ll have some time to stretch out and enjoy the finish line festival in Grand Park before returning to the start line at 6:30pm for the 10k.
After those last 6.2 miles, you’ll cross the finish line for the second time and walk away with THREE medals: 5k finisher medal, 10k finisher medal, and 9.3 Challenge medal.
The Challenge is yours for the taking!

De-tethering for short trails

Let’s face it, running with an insulin pump attached is no fun at all. (unless, of course you’re sportin’ a pod or you’re on MDI… then you should be good to go!)

New Year’s Race & the Glucose battle

Last year I ran this 15k challenge, the New Year’s Race, and approached it with a strategy that I thought would keep blood sugar, fuel supply and endurance in pretty good balance. Last year, that strategy didn’t work.
